Services - Controlling and Checking

PSP undertake any type of controlling projects by which it shall be assured that the structural design requirements are put into construction reality in a professional and accurate manner. Such quality assurance tasks could be

• the internal supervision of execution works on behalf of the building owner, possibly via the general contractor in charge, as well as
• the external supervision of execution works by order of the building authority („four eyes principle“).

In both cases, the supervision activities may occur on site – e.g. regarding the erection and installation works or the final acceptance procedure –, as well as in the fabrication shop – e.g. regarding the manufacturing works including the control of the constituent products used for the manufacturing, the system geometry and the welding and corrosion protection techniques.

Checking projects regarding structural design documents are also undertaken by PSP (though currently only if they are not part of the German legal checking procedure for civil engineering structures). Examples would be any structures to be erected abroad, or not-civil-engineering structures within Germany. A professional and reliable performing of such checking projects is fully guaranteed by the long-time experience of PSP’s senior partner as an officially approved proof engineer for structural steel design (the license has expired due to his age).
